Picture books enhance vocabulary development. You can help your child to read by asking questions. Questions get children to participate. Ask how many of x do they see in the picture or have them name the colors. Use questions like can you find x in the picture or where is x? Kids love this!


Ask older children to look at the covers of the book, then have them tell you what they think the book is about. Delve into questions, such as their knowledge and experience of the topic of the book.
